H.L. Rooted in the mid 90s, but performed with individuality comes the second full length from FUATH. It brings us melodic and atmospheric black metal, mainly played in lively pace and with high energy. A lot of repetitive instrumental parts make the songs quite hypnotic and intensive, like a modern "Jesu død", when you know the classic Burzum track. Further, all tracks sound different and unique because of these catchy hooks. You still hear and follow them in your mind, when the last tone has faded! Favorite track: The Pyre.

Translated from “hatred” in Gaelic, FUATH is the atmospheric black metal offshoot of SAOR’s Andy Marshall.
Taking inspiration from arguably black metal’s most fertile and explosive period — the early to mid-1990s — the music channels the unrelenting tenor and iciness of forebears DARKTHRONE and MAYHEM, as well as the mystery and atmosphere of bands like WINDIR.

‘II’ marks a huge progression from FUATH debut album ‘I’ (2016), with better-crafted songs, sharper black metal vocals from Marshall and enhanced production values.

Andrew Marshall clearly doesn't impose any restraints, and as such his music doesn't fit in a labelled box, indeed a plethora of styles can be heard in his majestic album "Origins", from folk/pagan elements, to more typical post-black metal, "Gregorian" chants, pan flute, maybe even a harp, everything fits perfectly and this opus is one flawless musical masterpiece! sashavonkarl74
