Not to take anything away from Mastodon, but I'd happily admit that Anciients have beaten them at their own game! They display great technical songwriting and playing prowess and incorporate their own inventive spin, making it difficult to pin them down to any one genre... as so many of the great bands are able to do!

Terrific album from start to finish, though the first four songs alone make the album. Killer riffs and melodies throughout, lots of clean singing, good harmonies, etc. For me Voice of the Void is their best offering.
