TheFolkAlchemist I picked a favorite song but EVERY song is great! This is one of those special albums where you just hit play, sit back, and get lost in the Smokey atmospheres and that specific Southern darkness that has a unique magick all its own. I never feel compelled to skip tracks, a perfect album!
Necrofier’s style of black metal is wholly unique, doesn’t ride the same tired Scandinavian bandwagon but instead chooses to create its own Humid, burning path. BUY THIS! Favorite track: Forbidden Light of the Black Moon.

Deep within the scorching cauldron of Texas, the alchemists of NECROFIER have brewed another potent dose of American black metal with their sophomore full-length, ‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night’.
The Houston four-piece honors the time-tested virtues of traditional black and heavy metal, even taking an organic sonic approach, tapping seven-time Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Joel Hamilton (Unsane, Tom Waits, etc.) to lend his magic touch for a natural sound.
As the US black metal outlaws saddle up for record number two, they are leading the charge as one of the contemporary purveyors of black metal revivalism. ‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night’ is certain to elicit a sense of nostalgia for those who dare to lay ears on this vicious new offering.

The first album is already a very good one, but the second is even better! It contains again nature black metal, quite melodic, but also wild, with some folkloristic elements, full of atmosphere and performed with passion. For me, BLACKBRAID fits well into the same category as other epic one man bands like Saor, Ruadh or Pure Wrath. Besides the catchy and quite straight opener "The Spirit returns", I mention the mightiest track "Moss covered Bones on the Altar of the Moon" as my favourite song! H.L.
